At Invictus School Hong Kong, our commitment lies in delivering affordable and high-quality education to students from all walks of life. In order to provide an education that leaves a lasting impact on your children, we make good use of the Cambridge International Curriculum; a globally-recognised syllabus that provides a rigorous and comprehensive education framework.

For international students, this global outreach is particularly important. As the most popular international qualification in the world, the Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) provides students with educational options wherever they choose to go in the future. Find out more about how this curriculum prepares our students for their further studies, and forms strong learning habits that can benefit them far into adult life.

Embracing the Cambridge Curriculum at Invictus

The Cambridge International Curriculum is renowned globally, not only for its rigorous academic standards but also for its recognition among universities and employers. Invictus School Hong Kong has adopted this esteemed curriculum, ensuring our students receive an education that sets a strong foundation for future academic and professional pursuits.

Schooling begins with the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), a holistic approach to learning and development, encouraging playful exploration that fosters children's natural curiosity, independence, and desire to investigate the world around them. At the primary school level, we've recently made the swap from the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) to the Cambridge Primary Curriculum, in order to provide a smoother transition between primary and secondary school.

After Year 6, students move on to the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum, which continues building on the knowledge and skills that they've gained throughout primary school. At the end of this path are the IGCSE and A-Levels qualifications, which are globally well-regarded certifications that mark the end of a student's education at Invictus School Hong Kong.

This syllabus provides students a balanced and comprehensive educational foundation, tailored to meet the needs of each student while aligning with global educational standards. On top of following the Cambridge International curriculum, we take measures to adapt where needed, and provide the necessary adjustments to fit our students.

Tailoring Education to Individual Needs

In order to facilitate personalised learning, we at Invictus School Hong Kong maintain smaller class sizes. Our student-to-teacher ratio of 25:1 is better than many other schools. This allows our educators to give individual attention to each student, identifying their unique academic strengths and areas for growth. Additionally, apart from homeroom teachers, our lower primary school students have the added support of teacher assistants to make sure no student is left behind.

At the upper secondary level, the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum allows students to select core subjects and courses that are applicable to their future goals and education. When combined with our personalised teaching methods, students are able to enjoy a tailored educational experience that accommodates their strengths and weaknesses. This empowers students to take ownership of their learning, fosters a nurturing environment that values individual progress, and promotes an inclusive approach that recognises diverse educational needs.

Bilingual and Holistic Learning Approach

At Invictus School Hong Kong, we make use of a holistic bilingual approach, starting from the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC). We balance 50% English and Mandarin at the kindergarten level, and as students move on to Primary school, this becomes a 70% to 30% ratio respectively. We have adapted the Cambridge curriculum which is predominantly taught in English, but there are exceptions where certain subjects, such as Chinese culture in global perspective class and Chinese arts in art class, are delivered in Chinese for a deeper cultural connection.

We also utilise the Singapore Math Method, a curriculum that revolves around critical thinking skills and problem-solving strategies. By strategically combining the Cambridge curriculum with this method, we empower students to develop a strong foundation in mathematics, coupled with critical thinking and problem-solving skills that have real-world applications.

Preparing for Global University Admissions

The Cambridge A-Level certification is internationally recognised and valued by universities worldwide, allowing it to facilitate a smoother transition for students aiming for higher education abroad. Over 10,000 schools across 160 countries utilise this curriculum, making it highly desirable for an international school. This curriculum is seen as a global standard, and provides students with essential skills for all levels of tertiary education.

Students pursuing the Cambridge A-Levels are able to choose subjects that are in line with their university and career aspirations. The curriculum offers a wide range of combinations, helping students tailor their studies to their interests and desired university entry requirements. At Invictus School Hong Kong, we're able to nurture these interests and provide a tailored approach that helps students further their educational goals.

Due to its internationally-applicable nature, Cambridge qualifications are highly relevant for international students and expatriate families.
