Senior Teacher (Primary)


Invictus is seeking an energetic Senior Teacher (Primary) to develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives. To teach and educate students according to educational needs, abilities and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to his/ her care by the School. Thus, optimizing the development of students according to age, ability and aptitude.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Together with the Principal, to develop and lead effective teaching and learning across multiple year  levels within the school. To be responsible for the development and implementation of new  curriculum initiatives in Mathematics and/or English. To ensure, through training and monitoring, that the relevant staff groups, including teachers and assistants, understand the philosophy and structure of the curriculum, and are able to deliver it effectively, and to assess and measure progress accurately, according to the needs of the students. As a senior teacher, to support the Principal and  management team in all areas of school life. The role will include a subject based class teaching commitment in English or Mathematics. Expression of interest and experience in other core curricular areas is also welcomed

  • Demonstrate initiative and innovation to promote positive change in the school, and to foster collaboration and teamwork in doing so.
  • Develop staff members’ professional capacity by instigating new strategies and practices in classrooms at different year levels, utilising proven classroom experience, and being involved in scheme planning, lesson planning, and classroom delivery.
  • Implement and embed new curricular and assessment programmes in the school.
  • Lead by example as a capable and effective classroom practitioner.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, student and parent bodies.


Job Specification

Years of Experience
  • At least 5 years of celebrated classroom teaching experience
  • Previous experience of managing and developing teaching teams
  • A repertoire of authentic, structured, engaging teaching approaches that delivers measurable learning outcomes
  • Competent in different grade levels with sound understanding of requirements and expectations of curriculum and student needs
  • Competent staff developer, skillful, effective and nurturing in building up the capacity of fellow teachers
  • Self-directed, initiate relevant and practical approaches in strengthening structures and processes for the continuous improvement of the school
  • A disposition and effectiveness of a high contributing team player, showing understanding of collective leadership leading to team achievements
  • Demonstrated strong beliefs in growing, developing and educating learners and fellow teachers
  • Preferably English or mathematics expertise
Education
  • Diploma or above
Profile of Competency
  • Relevant work experience in Education sector will be advantageous
  • Ability to work in Hong Kong preferred (HKID Resident or HK Permanent ID);
  • Have completed Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous and good organization skills
  • Experience in customer service will be advantageous
  • Contribute to a position, caring and motivating culture
  • Excellent computer literacy with Microsoft Office
Language Abilities
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and Cantonese will be advantageous, to liaise with local speakers
